The Caster Guy, a OneMonroe company, is proud to distribute Colson casters and wheels. Colson has been around since 1885 and is one of the most trusted caster brands in the world today. They have leading warranties and continuous innovations, including the unrivaled Performa wheel. On The Caster Guy, we sell a variety of Colson casters and wheels including plates, specialty, stem, cast iron, glass-filled, Performa rubber, phenolic, polyolefin, and polyurethane.
Plate Casters
There are many different Colson plate casters that we provide. We have light and medium duty casters, kingpinless, stainless steel, and general duty casters. These plate casters come in varying wheel diameters from 2” to 5”.
Specialty Casters
We provide specialty Colson casters for hotel/bellman carts. These are specifically designed to facilitate the smooth movement of bellman and luggage carts, and other transportation equipment in hotel environments. We offer the 6” and 8” Performa rubber rigid caster.
Stem Casters
There are three stem casters available from Colson on our website. There are square-stem casters, threaded pipe-stem casters, and threaded-stem casters. Our square stem casters and threaded stem casters come in Performa Rubber, polyolefin, and polyurethane HI-TECH. Our threaded pipe stem casters come in those three options and rubber HI-TECH. All three come in a variety of different sizes and wheel diameters.
Cast Iron
Our cast iron wheels come in cast iron or iron v-groove with Delrin, roller, or sleeve bearing, and range from 4” to 12” diameters. Delrin bearings, appreciated for their low friction and high wear resistance, are ideal for light loads and high speeds. Roller bearings, in contrast, accommodate heavier loads efficiently due to their design which spreads the weight over a large area, reducing friction. Conversely, sleeve bearings, while cost-effective and simple in design, may not suit heavy or prolonged use due to increased friction from a lack of rolling elements.
Glass Filled Nylon
The glass-filled nylon wheels come with Delrin or roller bearings, ranging from 4” to 8” in diameter. Glass-filled nylon wheels are commonly used for applications that require a high load capacity, durability, and resistance to impact, chemicals, and wear. Due to these properties, they are often found in industrial settings including factories, warehouses, or any environment where the wheels might face heavy loads and rough conditions.
Performa Rubber
Our Performa rubber wheel comes with a Delrin bearing, ball bearing, or roller bearing. These wheels come in 1-5/8” up to 8”. Performa rubber in wheels and casters delivers a smooth, quiet ride due to its unique soft tread design. It’s non-marking and offers excellent floor protection, making it suitable for various surfaces. Furthermore, Performa rubber provides good load capacity and is resistant to chemicals, enhancing the durability and longevity of wheels and casters.
Phenolic
Phenolic wheels offer durability and high impact resistance, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications. These wheels are also resistant to water, oil, and most solvents, extending their lifespan. With their high load capacity and resistance to flat spotting under static loads, they enhance their functionality in diverse scenarios. Our Phenolic wheels come in 4” up to 12” with Delrin or roller bearings.
Polyolefin
Polyolefin is a type of thermoplastic polymer known for its strength, lightweight, and resistance to impact and chemicals. These properties make it an ideal material for wheels, particularly where durability, corrosion resistance, and easy maneuverability are required. Polyolefin wheels are also non-marking, ensuring that floors remain clean and undamaged during use. Our polyolefin wheels come with a Delrin bearing or ball bearing and come in 1-5/8” to 8”.
Polyurethane
Our Polyurethane comes on cast iron, aluminum, or polyurethane HI-TECH. These wheels range from 4” to 12” and come with a roller, Delrin, or ball bearing. Polyurethane is a popular choice for wheels due to its high load capacity, exceptional durability, and resistance to wear abrasion, and certain chemicals. Its unique elasticity offers a smooth and quiet operation, with the added benefit of protecting floors from scuffs and marks. Thus, polyurethane wheels can suitably serve in diverse environments, from warehouses to hospitals, ensuring seamless mobility.
