Nursery Carts

Spring is in the air! The birds are chirping, the trees are blossoming and the flowers are blooming. Its hard not to be happy this time of year as the weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. Every year as spring and summer arrive, garden centers around the country are working tirelessly to prep their beautiful flowers and plants for peoples yards, decks and patios. When shopping for these items at the nursery, it is important to have the right equipment to move your products around the nursery and get them to your car safely without hurting yourself. I would like to highlight two caster options I recommend for garden nursery trucks which are also a great fit for any platform truck.

First, the mold-on rubber on iron caster is a great fit for this type of environment. It is designed to provide an easy roll over all types of surfaces such as concrete and gravel. These casters come in sizes from 4″ to 8″ to fit your preferences on each of your nursery carts. Mold-on rubber wheels are safe on all types of flooring(are mostly non-marking), they provide a long tread life, they have a quiet roll and are very resilient. Mold-on rubber wheels are a popular choice used on inexpensive applications such as platform trucks, dumpsters, lumber carts and other economical manually pushed applications. Though they are fairly resilient, these wheels should be replaced as soon as they start to crack, chunk or tear apart. Once you see one crack or damaged part of the wheel, the rest of the tread will fall apart very quickly.

Second, the thermo-pro rubber caster is another great fit with a plethora of great benefits. The one main difference on this caster is the wheel hub material. The wheel hub is a polyolefin material rather than metal. It still has a sufficient load capacity but it comes at a much lighter weight. These wheels are non-marking and the thermoplastic rubber tread is permanently bonded to polyolefin core. These casters are great for a shock absorbing cushioned ride which offers superior floor protection and a quiet rolling operation. The wheel is designed to offer good stability at low temperatures and is designed to deflect debris on the ground. The thermo-pro rubber is resistant to water and is excellent for wash down applications & outdoor use. It is UV resistant which allows it to hold up well with high exposure to the sun.

Whatever caster you see as a better fit for you, either of these options are a great solution to get your nursery carts in tip top shape for the upcoming gardening season. I hope you all are having a great spring so far and are enjoying the warm weather out there!

Thank you,
